Senior CPC officials urge deeper cultural reform

Senior officials of the Communist Party of China (CPC) expect innovation in the cultural system to build a socialist cultural power.

Liu Qibao, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, reiterated the need to accelerate improvement of cultural administration and cultural production at a work conference held Monday and Tuesday.

The CPC will also promote basic public cultural services, improve cultural industry, attach importance to folk culture, further cultural opening-up and strive to implement the reform tasks made by the CPC Central Committee, Liu said.

Also at the conference, Vice Premier Liu Yandong called on all Party members to be resolved to carry out the guideline on deepening cultural reform.

She urged profound research and favorable policies to boost the reform.
