Jiaolong, China's first manned deep-sea submersible, is fixed on the deck of its carrier, Xiangyanghong 09, after a dive in the northwest Pacific Ocean, July 16, 2014. The submersible has launched a voyage in the northwest Pacific Ocean, during which it will research cobalt-rich crusts and life forms inhabiting the bottom of the sea. (Xinhua/Luo Sha)
