There is nothing like mother's love, as the old saying goes. When the mother died, a "heartbroken child" took the extreme step by committing suicide.

A "heartbroken" little swan is suspected of ending its life after its mother's death, one day before the New Year, dahe.cn reported.

The witness said the swan got separated from its mother in the frozen lake. Crying loudly, it tried repeatedly to swim across the ice to its departed mother. After all its efforts went in vain, the little swan started to knock its head on ice and buried its head in the water for a long time, and died.
