Lychee wedding proposal in NW China

A young man produced a lychee wedding proposal to a girl on an overbridge in Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Friday.

The 24-year-old man said he had attempted to show his love to a girl that he knew for three years but kept losing his nerve.

He finally found the courage after hearing the girl was going shopping in the area on Friday and bought some lychees, the girl's favorite fruit, the night before.

The girl was quite surprised to see him and was even more shocked when the young man got down on his knees to propose to her.

She then misled the young man into thinking she was going to accept after she ate a lychee. But the girl walked away and refused as he stood up.

Disappointed, the young man picked up the lychees from the overbridge and gave them all to other pedestrians.
