The process, including the landing, was fully automated, and the result satisfied the drone's chief designer Ou Zhongming.
With a wingspan of 20 meters and a takeoff weight of three tons, the Caihong-5 is able to accomplish surveillance and attack tasks at medium or low altitude for more than 30 hours. It can also carry up to 900 kilograms of materials.
