A global conference on regenerative life science was held in Beijing on Wednesday as participating experts agreed to explore the technology and push it forward to benefit more people around the world.

The Global Conference for Collaboration and Development on Regenerative Life Science, cosponsored by The Chinese Red Cross Foundation and the Beijing MEBO Institute for Burns, Wounds and Ulcers, was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to fulfill the mission of protecting life and health and to inherit the advanced scientific technology created by Dr. Xu Rongxiang and his spirit of healing the wounded and rescuing the dying.

At the conference, the establishment of "The Chinese Red Cross Foundation Rongxiang Xu Regenerative Life Non-profit Fund" and the "National Rongxiang Xu Foundation" in America were announced. Also, the "Rongxiang Xu MD Center of Regenerative Therapeutics" at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School and the "Rongxiang Xu Center for Regenerative Life Science" at the University of Southern California (USC) Davis School of Gerontology was introduced.

The project of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Commitment "From Urban to Rural: Training Doctors on Moist Exposed Burn Therapy (MEBT)" was also launched at the conference. Phillip Chen, the health deputy for Los Angeles County and Supervisor Mike Antonovich, announced the Memorandum of Understanding signed between The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and the USC Rongxiang Xu Center for Regenerative Life Science (RXCRLS) for MEBT training. These two projects will build a technological training system and network training platform for the development of regenerative life science.

Kevin Xu, CEO of MEBO International Inc., said that MEBT has been recognized by many countries as clinical therapy and medicine for burns while it was also recognized by the Chinese government as a significant science and technology achievement. In 1995, Dr. Xu received China's Award for Scientific and Technological Innovations Made by Young Scientists, and MEBO/MEBT was selected by the government to be one of the top 100 important achievements of science and technology to be promoted nationwide.

"Dr. Xu was an exceptional surgeon, leading scientist of regenerative life science and an outstanding humanitarian," said Dr. Li Li, Director of the Chinese Red Cross Foundation Rongxiang Xu Regenerative Life Non-profit Fund, "We will raise more funds, resources and power to boost the progress of the science and provide wider support and aid to patients. Then, this will be a better commemoration for him and the best promotion for his cause and legacy."

Authorities and experts in the field of regenerative life science both from home and abroad gathered together to discuss the major discoveries and applicative achievements in this field and provide ideas for the sustainable development and research of regenerative life science founded by Dr. Xu Rongxiang. The conference has generated interest from various parties, charity representatives and celebrities, including Chinese comedian Jiang Kun and American singer Jermaine Jackson.
