The National Postdoctoral Academic Forum kicked off in Hengqin New Area, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, on Dec. 10, 2016.
Postdoctoral researcher Jin Ran won the first prize with this forum paper, coming from a postdoctoral fellowship in computer science and technology in Zhejiang University, saying that the lifeblood of a smart city is big data.
He told China.org.cn that each person and object would produce large amounts of data, so dealing with data is becoming more and more critical. Companies have begun to attach importance to the value of the data and enter into cooperation in the field with technology researchers.
"Big data applications in the transportation sector are very experienced and will continue to expand into other areas," said Jin. He believed that "the next 5 to 10 years will be a big time for big health data." Disease prevention and control can be achieved through the technology mining and analysis of the big data on healthcare.
