Title: The Significance and Ways of Jointly Building the Belt and Road by China and Middle Eastern Countries

Abstract:

China proposed to launch the Belt and Road Initiative with the aim of promoting economic development in relevant countries and regions—even the whole world— through regional economic cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit and joint development. China also hopes to promote peace and stability in regions and the world as a whole through economic development and cooperation. The Belt and Road Initiative, therefore, constitutes China’s plan to facilitate world peace and development.

The Middle East is at the intersection of the maritime and continental Silk Roads, and so plays an integral role in the Belt and Road Initiative. The peoples of China and Middle Eastern countries opened up and constructed the Silk Road in ancient times, making significant contributions to peaceful exchanges within human civilization and to the development of the Eastern and the Western worlds.

Today, China stands ready to launch the Belt and Road Initiative hand and hand with Middle Eastern and other countries of Eurasia. The country is keen to enhance cooperation in such areas as energy, technology transfer, finance, infrastructure, regional security, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges. These joint efforts not only benefit all parties involved but also promote world peace and development. Enjoying favorable conditions while facing certain obstacles, China and Middle Eastern countries must go all out to make this plan, which benefits relevant parties and the world as a whole, a reality.
