Title: China-Europe Civilized Partnership: New Contributions to Humanity
Abstract:
The politics, economy, society, history, and culture of over 60 countries along the route are diverse. Therefore, it is important to take these differences into account throughout implementation of the initiative. Dealing with cultural differences carries particular significance. International relations and its norms have been more or less dominated by Western countries ever since the capitalism rapidly developed and applied its driving force to the fields of production, which resulted in lots of conflicts and disastrous results, instead of peace. During his visit to EU headquarters in April 2014, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a civilized partnership, which was listed as one of the four major partnerships between China and the European Union. This principle is applicable not only for Sino-European relationship, but also for the Belt and Road Initiative. It is not just one of the key factors in implementing the strategy, but also the important foundation of the project. All countries along the route are encouraged to make joint efforts to forge civilized partnerships.
