Title: Building Harmonious Belt and Road byEnhancing Understanding of Religious Culture — Review of Religious Studies of ChineseThink Tanks
Abstract:
Implementing the Belt and Road Initiative not only leads in a much closer overall relations between China and the countries along the Belt and Road, but also closes the distance between the Chinese and the world religious cultures. The exchange and dialogues on religious cultures are of vital importance to people-to-people bonds and mutual learning along the Belt and Road. Focusing on religious studies in China’s think tanks, this paper proposes the following aspects that the Chinese think tanks should work on:
Firstly, China’s think tanks should endeavor to humanistic studies that are related to religious culture, tapping fully the traditional experience and make it serve the needs of the present. Secondly, China’s think tanks should focus on practical studies and commit to building a “religious dialogue” platform for implementing the initiative. Thirdly, China’s think tanks should evaluate the potential risks that religious factors and the matters of religion may cause to the building of the Belt and Road. Timely and effective research and risk assessment shall be made to ensure the smooth progress of the initiative.
