Title: Reflection of the Belt and Road Initiative in Mass Media and Constructive Resolutions of Uzbekistan

Abstract

The Belt and Road Initiative raised by Chinese leaders promotes the Silk Road spirit and encourages mutual cooperation which are widely upheld by the world public and the Uzbek leaders.

As good stimulus for the revival of the best traditions and the guiding principle of the Great Silk Road, the visits of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Beijing and Xi’an in 2014 in the course of the official visits, visits of Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2016 and 2013 to Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand, have witnessed the exchange between the West and the East.

The productiveness of this interchange is evidenced by the artifacts kept in the museums and by the appearance of architectural and other monuments.

Interpenetration and mutual enrichment of cultures of different peoples were embodied in these details. To make them the property of the public and attract tourists’ attention to them, it is proposed to create an internet-portal devoted to the revival of the Great Silk Road Spirit.

Such visits and informational resources will stimulate the cooperation in education,

scientific and cultural exchange, as well as in tourism. As predicted, within the next

five years, the number of tourists from China to the countries along the Belt and Road

will reach 150 million, and expenses of tourists will exceed $200 billion.

With the view of further development of cooperation and comprehensive mutual access, China offers to quicken the infrastructure construction of highways, railways, airports and broadband internet.

Uzbekistan is also engaged in their domestic modernization.

The mutually beneficial exchange of goods, technologies, personnel and ideas for more than 2,100 years has been furthering the economic, cultural, social progress and the prosperity of all countries.

The Silk Road spirit advocates peace and cooperation, openness and tolerance, and mutual learning.

Therefore, the initiatives of the Uzbek and Chinese leaders calling for constructive actions “to develop the Silk Road spirit and to conduct great deeds with joint efforts” are so opportune nowadays.

Uzbekistan supports the Belt and Road Initiative of China, and takes an active part in financial projects of the AIIB and the Silk Road Fund. In the opinion of experts, it is time for more intensive development of cooperation between the two countries.

The President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov explicitly spoke in favor of this, having declared that its successful realization is possible “exclusively on the basis of common, mutual interests of all countries involved”.

Passenger and cargo air routes from Beijing, Guangzhou and Urumqi to Tashkent successfully serve the businessmen and travelers, for whom “ PRC Guidebook” (Author

S. Savchuk-Kurbanov) was published by International Business Travel and Association of International Business and Technologies with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan.

Thus, the realization of the Belt and Road Initiative will facilitate the stable development and further the prosperity of the countries and peoples.
