Title: China's 'Belt and Road' to Cause Global Paradigm Shift for Decades to Come —Pakistan is Pivot to China's 'Belt and Road'
Abstract
The Belt and Road, as the whole venture is abbreviated, comprises of both overland Silk Road Economic Belt and Maritime Silk Road that will materialize the dream of planned regional and international connectivity by binding continents and countries. However, the real objective of the Belt and Road would be to connecting China with the rest of the world through sea and road links.
As we know, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the pilot project of the Belt and Road Initiative of China for which Pakistan is the pivot. Pakistan and China are “iron-brothers”, as you say it here in China and we call it the strategic partnership which is sweeter than honey and higher than Hamalas.
For decades, both the countries have enjoyed a brotherly and cordial relation. Therefore, it is pertinent to note that the impact of the CPEC on all Pakistani enterprises will be enormous. China, for the first time, is opening up to the world, and the Belt and Road Initiative, once completed, is bound to alter the global world as we know it. I believe that 21st century is the Asian century and China is bound to play a pivotal role in Asia’s unprecedented rise.
With the rise of China, the unipolar world is fast moving toward a multipolar paradigm. Hence, new challenges are emerging to test the conviction, vision and resolve of the Chinese leadership and its great people. The new leadership, under visionary President Xi Jinping, is all set to correct its route and employ new plan of action and strategies.
Being the most populous country of the world, China, still a developing nation, has its fair share of issues related to healthcare, poverty and education. Much-touted as the workshop or factory of the world, now the Chinese government is all set to herald into a new model that is not as infrastructure-centric as before. As a World Bank study has found that for every billion dollar spent on the infrastructure in a region, more than
100,000 jobs will be created.
It is for the greater good of all that both the Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC work in tandem as only then the nations of Asia will move ahead and bag their fair share in the comity of nations.
