Title: Jointly Promote Building of the Belt and Road by Developing Multi-Tiered and Wide-Ranging Media Cooperation

Abstract

In the information era, the media which plays the role of spreading information has been introducing the Silk Road through various means including text, pictures and videos. As a new messenger of cultural exchanges, the media also plays an irreplaceable role in promoting understanding and friendship among the people of various countries. Here, we propose suggestions as follows:

1. Focusing on the building of the Belt and Road, the media in countries along

the routes should set up a long-term multi-tiered cooperation mechanism and keep improving it. Based on such a mechanism which brings more concrete results, the media can carry out regular cooperation such as high-level visits, personnel exchanges, content exchange and joint activities, and develop a new cooperation platform to comprehensively upgrade media cooperation and promote the flow of information. It will enhance mutual trust between countries and deepen friendship among the people.

2. Taking the advantage of explosive development of new media technology featuring rapid spread of information, the media should strengthen cooperation in the field of new media. In the countries and regions with well-developed internet infrastructure, the media can push forward cooperation in news websites, news applications, social media, internet TV and online live coverage. They can jointly identify topics to cover, develop applications together, co-produce micro-videos and launch special columns, reports and web pages on the media platform of other countries so as to further deepen and expand cooperation.

3. The media should jointly hold more well-planned, targeted and effective international exchange and interview activities. We can jointly organize group interviews and hold forums in countries along the Belt and Road. Face-to-face discussion and interaction can help us expand and deepen cooperation.

4. As the media in countries along the Belt and Road continue to deepen cooperation, we look forward to the attention from the media of other countries and welcome them to join us in telling stories about the Belt and Road.
