Beijing's first tour bus line, "Tour Bus Line 1", which takes tourists straight to Badaling from Qianmen, opened on Jan 1, according to a Beijing Daily report.

After four months of trial operation, the bus line opened on the first day of 2017.

The line makes it easier and safer for tourists to travel between urban areas and outer suburban attractions.

The line is equipped with brand new tourist buses that provide every passenger with a seat and an introduction to the attractions. Tourists only have to pay 20 yuan for a single ticket.

"In the past, there were always unauthorized car drivers who asked if you would go to Badaling," said a passenger. "Now with regular buses straight to the destination, we don't have to worry about being cheated."

In addition, the tour buses, leave every half an hour. Once all the seats are occupied, they will depart. Passengers can buy tickets on the spot.

In the future, more bus-based travel routes are expected to be rolled out across the city.

Line Information: Ticket price: 20 yuan. Children below 130cm ride free of charge. Departures: Qianmen, Tian'anmen, flag-raising ceremony ending – 11:00; Badaling, 9:00-17:00 (Apr. 1 to Oc.t 31), 11:00-16:30 (Nov. 1- Mar. 31).
