The Chinese research institutions and universities have established more than 300 research platforms on the Belt and Road Initiative and more than 50 foreign think tanks have joined the research, said Tuo Zhen, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, at a news conference on promoting people-to-people exchanges among countries along the Belt and Road on Thursday.

Tuo said a large number of research platforms have been established after the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed, as the initiative has already become a key research for think tanks and received positive response from domestic and overseas academic circles.

Chinese think tanks published more than 400 books on the Belt and Road Initiative and foreign think tanks published more than 100 research reports on the initiative.

The high-level academic platforms for exchanges and cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative have attracted extensive participation of think tanks, and thus help build bridges for effective communication, better understanding and broad consensus.

Chinese and foreign think tanks will gather at a parallel session during the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Tuo said outcomes of cooperation among think tanks will be announced at the session.
