U Thit Linn Ohn, Myanmar Ambassador to China, praised on Wednesday a Children’s Day celebration event, as carrying on the traditional friendshipbetween Myanmar and China.

The ambassador is in Beijing attending an event named "Dreams of the Future in B&R Young Hearts -Celebrating International Children's Day," which is held by Beijing-based not-for-profit organization China Soong Ching Ling Foundation on the eve of International Children’s Day.

The event attracts about more than 700 children from over 40 countries, who presented performances including singing and dancing, martial arts, painting and craftsmanship.

The ambassador said he is very happy to attend such an event. “Myanmar and China have very close, very friendly relations, we have so many exchanges in terms of children, sports, and also culture…. I’m very happy to be here. I’m very impressed with your preparation.”

The ambassador also revealed that a soccer match between China and ASEAN youths will be hosted by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation in August, which Myanmar youth players will also attend.
