A court in northeast China's Liaoning Province Thursday sentenced a former armored cash truck escort to 15 years in prison and fined him 50,000 yuan for robbing 6 million yuan (90,000 US dollars).
In September 2016, Li Xuyi was driving an armored truck carrying 35 million yuan in Yingkou, Liaoning, according to the Intermediate People's Court of Yingkou.
He used a home-made gun to threaten his colleagues and escaped with 6 million yuan from the truck, the court said.
He was later caught by police at his home.
Li confessed the crime and police recovered the cash, which the court said were grounds for leniency.
