Abstract

The Chinese dream is all about "a strong and prosperous state, national revival and well-beings of the people". The essence of the dream is civilizational revival, that is, to transform Chinese civilization in the globalization era from an agricultural one to an industrialized one, from a land-oriented one to ocean-oriented one, and from a regional one to global one, thus making China a leading power in the world. The Chinese dream should provide justifications to China's rise, and its essence is determined by China's multiple identities and the various facets of its development. To some extent, the Chinese dream is the world dream, because it contributes to the transition of the world. Therefore, the Chinese dream not only marks the start of the revival of Chinese civilization but opens a new era of the world dream. The Chinese dream will rebuild China and the world. It will help China, the western countries and the world to achieve self-fulfillment.
