Abstract:

The Chinese Dream put forward by President Xi Jinping has received wide international attention. Yet there are few people who truly comprehend the content of the Chinese Dream, let alone its essence and nature.

The major problems:

The first difficulty is to make the concept understood. The Chinese Dream has very profound meanings in spite of its simple form of only three words, which presents a major difficulty to publicize this concept.

The second difficulty is to make the concept accepted. While to the ordinary overseas audience the main difficulty lies in understanding the Chinese Dream, the difficulty in publicizing the concept among social elites of foreign countries is to have them accept it.

The last difficulty is to master the concept. Because it is quite difficult to integrate the concept of the Chinese Dream with the realities of their own countries, many foreigners regret that their countries cannot copy the CPC-led Chinese way to democracy and prosperity, despite their deep admiration of the concept.

Policy suggestions:

1. For the effectiveness and practicality of publicity, we should conduct overseas investigations into China's images.

2. We can localize the interpretation of Chinese Dream through close cooperation with local media networks and adapt the concept to suit other perspectives and differing public opinions. A variety of ways can be used in order to present the content effectively.

3. We can actively communicate with far-sighted political, academic and religious figures of the target countries to facilitate the introduction of their own countries' dreams in terms of the Chinese Dream.
