9 bombing suspects arrested in Tibet

Police have arrested nine suspects in connection with the bombing of a Tibetan township government building.

The explosion happened at 3:50 am on March 23rd in Gyanbe Township of Qambo Prefecture in Tibet Autonomous Region. Police arrested the alleged ringleader, 27-year-old Rinqen Jamcan, on April 6th. He is a ranking monk in the Tongxia Monastery in Gyanbe Township. The other eight are also monks at the temple.

Police say one of the suspects, Cewang Yexe, transported a homemade bomb on a motorcycle and moved it into the building with the help of others. Police say the suspects have confessed to their involvement.
