Chinese consular officer tells US media real Tibet

An ethnic Tibetan consular officer at China's Consulate-General in New York,Rizin Luose, has held two press conferences on the Tibetan issue. He spoke to the US media about the real Tibet, based on his own experiences there. And he also clarified facts that have been distorted by the Dalai Lama.

Representatives of the US media including ABC and CBS attended the events along with representatives of the Chinese-language media in the US.
Rizin Luose spoke about the real Tibet his own thirty years' experience there and expanded on Tibet's development. He clarified some of the historical, cultural and religious issues which have been distorted and exposed the Dalai Lama and his followers' real purpose of deceiving the public and splitting the country.
Rizin Luose said, "Through my own experience and the experience of my friends and many overseas Tibetans, we can say that Tibet is currently at its best period."
Rizin Luose also criticized some of the western media for their inaccurate reports and called for the US media to be more objective on the Tibet issue.
Rizin Luose said, "Westerners and many overseas Chinese don't have a clear understanding of the Tibet issue. Most of the information they get is from the Dalai Lama and therefore much of it is distorted and totally different from the Tibet where I lived."
The press conference also drew the attention of the American public. Many people contacted Rizin Luose, saying that they think his introduction of Tibet was from a Tibetan's own perspective and was quite convincing. They said they hoped to learn more about the true Tibet. Many Tibetans in the US agreed with Rizin Luose saying that with the central government's protection. Tibetan culture is in its most prosperous and colorful period.
