Qi Faren's work has laid a solid ground for China's first manned spacecraft---the Shenzhou five spacecraft.

Qi Faren is the chief designer of China's Shenzhou spacecraft. After graduating from Beijing Tsinghua University, Qi Faren was involved in the research and design of China's first satellite, the Dong Fang Hong satellite. During the process, he put forward a creative plan for ground experiments, which paved the way for the satellite's successful lift-off.
