Justin Yifu Lin, a former World Bank official and currently professor of Peking University, said this morning that he's confident that China can achieve the 8 percent growth, if the following issues can be properly handled.
He said, "Drawing from lessons of other Asian economies, China, as a developing country, has a sorts of "late-mover advantage". Many Asia economies, resorting to this advantage, maintained a stable annual growth between 7.6 percent to 9.2 percent. So if China can use it as well, it will likely to maintain a annual growth of around 8 percent. But of course, it has to solve some problems such as industrial upgrade and economic transformation."
