The national legislative session will promote thrift this year as part of a national campaign against extravagance, a spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
The top legislature has issued 17 stipulations, such as banning banquets, gifts and expensive dishes during this year's meeting, said Fu Ying, spokeswoman for the second session of the 12th National People's Congress, which is to kick off on Wednesday.
Delegations and deputies are also banned from receiving gifts such as books or products from any enterprises during the session, she said.
She said more than 3,000 reporters from home and abroad have registered to cover the two sessions this year.
Apart from routine schedules, such as deliberation on the central government work report and reports from the top court and top procuratorate, about 20 press conferences have been arranged.
