Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader Liu Yunshan said Sunday that the Party must be well disciplined if the country is to achieve the goals set out in the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).

Attending a panel deliberation with national lawmakers from Jiangxi Province, Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, reminded the participants that the strict governance of the Party must be characterized by perseverance and responsibility.
He told CPC officials that criticism and self-criticism must continue to be a regular practice and all cadres should promote the "consciousnesses of the ideology, the whole, the core and the line."
Liu also called for improved integration of Party-building with the effort of advancing economic and social development.
