China-ASEAN Expo closes with increasing trade volume

NANNING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The 9th China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Expo closed Tuesday in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, recording increased trade volume growth between firms from China and ASEAN members.

As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the total trade volume at this year's expo reached 1.778 billion U.S. dollars, up 3.9 percent from the previous expo, said Lan Tianli, secretary-general of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, at a press conference held after the expo's closing ceremony.

Lan said 118 international economic agreements were signed, with total investment up 10.6 percent from last year's expo to 8.204 billion U.S. dollars.

The 9th China-ASEAN Expo attracted 52,000 people to participate in the five-day event, up 2.8 percent from last year, Lan said. Enditem
