Former NBA center Hamed Haddadi will soon ink his deal with Chinese basketball club Sichuan Jinqiang, the Chinese club said on Thursday.
Geng Jie, general manager of the Sichuan Jinqiang club, told Xinhua that Haddadi had agreed to play for Jinqiang in the 2013-2014 season and is expected to fly to China in a few days.
"He is waiting for his visa," said Geng.
Haddadi, 28, is the only Iranian to play in the NBA. The 2.18m-tall center played a pivotal role in Iran's triumph in the Asian basketball championship in 2007, 2009 and 2013.
Sichuan Jinqiang was promoted to the CBA for the 2013-2014 season from the Chinese National Basketball League. Endi
