HAIKOU, Nov.24 (Xinhua) -- The Belt and Road Haikou youth football invitational will be held between Dec. 6-13 in Haikou, capital city of South China's island province of Hainan, according to the municipal government.

The game attracted eight teams from Croatia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and China.

As an important city of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Haikou plans to make the invitational a high-level international competition, covering Belt and Road countries and regions.

The tournament is divided into group and knockout stages, adopting the latest rules of the Chinese Football Association.

The events will be free to the public to attract more attention to youth soccer. Enditem
