ZHENGZHOU, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Terer Partric Kipyegon from Kenya won the men's title of the inaugural Zhengzhou Yanhuang Marathon on Sunday in central China's Henan province in 2 hours 15 minutes and 33 seconds.
This is Kipyegon's Marathon race in China. Despite the victory, he was not satisfied with his performance.
"My best time was around 2 hours 8 minutes,I often run into 2 hours 10 minutes, so I hope I can do that next time," Kipyegon said. "Most of the road is flat except some turns. the wind maybe influenced me a little."
Weyecha Dawit Abera from Ethiopia came second in 2:16:11, and Cheboi William Rutto form Kenya was third in 2:18:02.
Purity Jerono Talam from Kenya claimed the women's title with 2 hours 46 minutes and 13 seconds.
About 8,000 athletes took part in the event, which features marathon and half marathon. Enditem
