Children from a primary school read Chinese classical texts in
chorus in Hong Kong's Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground July 14. Thousands
of Hong Kong children, delegates from Hong Kong social groups and
guests from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia joined in the
recital.
The annual event aims to encourage children to recite Chinese
classical texts, so that they can naturally improve their grammar
and shape their cultural tastes. The first recital is held in Hong
Kong in 2004, the second and the third in Beijing and Taipei
separately in 2005 and 2006.
