So are the large companies, especially multinationals, causing environmental or ecological damage, is the man generally associated, the great predator of nature and why he does it?

Under the pretext of development, progress, technology and profit. Therefore global society has severely questioned the concept and overall coverage, the so-called "sustainable development" as it has served to provide legal visa to predation and damage, even within the legal and regulatory framework.

Although it is included in the concept of sustainable development as laudable goals as the quality of life and social well-being, they are tied to the concept of "economic growth" that is the direct and primary effect of that, in other words, economic exploitation, intensive technical and natural resources, preventing environmental degradation, that is the content and scope of sustainable development called the Rio Declaration.

Contrasts naturally with the content and wording of the "principles" of the Stockholm Declaration, where the basis of fundamental rights for humanity is to preserve, conserve and improve the environment.

I remember at the end of this intervention to Beltrand Russell, when about science and politics, with reference to the last century he said "the twentieth century will give the man technological advances have never seen before. That will make his life more comfortable, but do not forget that these advances will also enter to the decision of political power, so it is the man's duty to ensure that political power is in the correct hands and that might give us a better and long life or end this period of humanity. "

In our hands and in the development that thanks to these forums we can communicate and inform to our leaders-or if we are, is the fate of our children who are the world of today and ever. Thank you.

Mr. Fernando Alberto CALLE HAYEN is Magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Peru.
