Police have revealed that bombs caused Friday night's Internet
cafe blasts that killed two people and injured four in Hefei,
capital of east China's Anhui Province.
The first explosion occurred at 9:36 PM and the second 18
minutes later at two neighbouring Internet cafes on Meiling
Avenue.
The blasts were previously thought to have been caused by
computers exploding.
Local police are trying to identify the components of the bombs
and determine how they were brought into the cafes, according to
Zhang, from the city's Public Security Bureau.
The two Internet cafes have business licences, but are not
equipped with security video cameras, according to Wang Haoming, of
the Hefei municipal government, who is participating in the
investigation.
The two male victims, aged 25 and 23, have also been identified.
One was a customer and the other a staff member of the Internet
cafe, according to the city's Public Security Bureau.
Song Jiawen, a 15-year-old middle school student, is among the
four injured in the blast and is in a coma.
The other three injured, two of whom are female college
students, are expected to make a full recovery, according to
medical workers in the city's Southeast Hospital.
The city has launched security checks in all of its Internet
cafes since the bombings.
