A seven-month-old infant was accidentally suffocated by his
grandmother as she rushed to carry the child to safety after a shed
collapsed on a construction site in Zhejiang Province.
The grandmother clutched the infant to her chest too tightly
when she fled the scene of the accident, in which a man and a woman
were killed by the falling debris.
The accident occurred at 4:25 AM Monday in Changting village in
Fenghua city when incessant rain caused a wall to collapse and
crush parts of the adjacent shelters. Nineteen people were in the
shed when the accident happened.
The three injured workers were sent to hospital and they are
reported to be stable, according to local officials.
