Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi on Friday urged organizers to continue
preparations for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
So far, 109 countries and international organizations have
confirmed their attendance at the Expo, according to Wu at a work
meeting of the organizing committee.
"This year is crucial for the preparations and the work will
bearduous. It needs more attention and support from local
governments and central departments," she said.
"Efforts should be made to attract more countries and
organizations to attend the Expo and improve publicity and
management plans," she said.
The Expo will be held from May 1 to October 31 in 2010 in
Shanghai.
China is hoping to attract 200 countries and international
organizations to the Shanghai World Expo, making it the largest in
its history.
