Three people have been confirmed dead and 35 others are injured
after a coach overturned Tuesday in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to
the local government.
The accident happened at around 0:30 AM on Tuesday in Mashan
County, about 120 kilometers from Nanning, the regional capital. A
man and a woman were killed outright, and another seriously-injured
woman died in hospital.
Some of the 35 injured are in critical condition and are being
treated in hospitals in Mashan and Nanning, according to the
county's deputy director of health, surnamed Yang.
The coach, with 38 people onboard, was on its way from Shenzhen,
in southern Guangdong Province, to Nanchong, in
southwestern Sichuan Province. Most of the victims are
migrant workers and their families who were returning home for
Spring Festival.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
