Seventeen people were injured, two seriously, after an
out-of-control car burst into a securities trading office in
Shanghai on Friday morning.
The accident took place at about 10 AM at a Shanghai branch of
Zhongshan Securities Co., when a Volvo sedan smashed through the
plate glass windows on the ground floor and came to a stop in the
middle of the office, witnesses said.
All of the injured people were rushed to a nearby Zhongshan
Hospital and two are still being treated for severe injuries. The
other 15 people have been discharged.
Police investigations show that the driver of the sedan, a
security guard of the company, was parking the Volvo for a
customer.
The accident is being further investigated.
