Three people were killed and eight others injured after their vehicle overturned in central China's Henan Province on Monday, local traffic officials said on Tuesday.
An agricultural vehicle carrying 14 people for tree planting activity overturned at a bend in a road in Jiyuan city at 7:55 a.m. on Monday. Two people were killed on the spot and nine others were injured.
One of the injured died Monday night in a local hospital. The other eight were not in critical situation, doctors said.
These vehicles were designed to carry freight but are often used as a form of passenger transport.
Investigators were still trying to ascertain the cause of the accident, but traffic officials surmised that speeding and overloading may be responsible for the tragedy.
