The first train has travelled over Poyang Lake, China's largest freshwater lake, with the opening of the Tongjiu Railway to traffic on Thursday.
The 251 kilometer-long Tongjiu Railway, with a 5.5 kilometers bridge over Poyang Lake, opened to traffic on Thursday after three years of construction.
The Poyang Lake Bridge is the longest among the 63 bridges on the line.
The Tongjiu Railway, with a high speed of 160 kilometers per hour, connects east Anhui province's Tongling city and east Jiangxi province's Jiujiang city, two cities on the south bank of the lower reaches of the Changjiang River.
