A Hong Kong man was killed and four others seriously injured after their bus overturned in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China Tuesday, the local authority said.
A total of 18 people, including 13 Hong Kong citizens, a Briton, and four Chinese mainlanders, were onboard the tour bus when it overturned on a highway in Siziwang Banner at about 11 a.m.
The Hong Kong passengers and the Briton are volunteers with two poverty-relief organizations based in Hong Kong.
They were returning to Hohhot, the region's capital city, after finishing a mission in Xilingol League.
The victim, surnamed Tao, is 26 years old.
Eunice Wood, the Briton, who is 64 years old, received slight injuries in the accident.
More than 20 doctors selected from local hospitals are examining all the passengers who had been sent to a hospital in Hohhot.
The injured have no life-threatening injuries and are in stable conditions, according to medical staff.
Local government officials and the police are trying to ascertain the cause of the accident.
