A woman who was seriously injured in last week's quake that has killed three in southwest China's Yunnan Province was still in danger, hospital sources said on Sunday.

The woman named Cun Huidong from a village in Yingjiang County, was now being treated in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture Hospital. She was crushed by a fallen wall in the quake and suffered serious injuries in the abdomen.

She was in a state of shock due to much bleeding when being admitted to hospital. Doctors carried out operation on her Sunday morning, but she was still in danger.

Yingjiang was hit by a magnitude-5.0 tremor at 5:35 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by quakes with magnitudes 4.9 and 5.9 on Thursday.

Three people were killed and 117 others injured. The tremors destroyed 11,360 houses and damaged 77,747 others, forcing 125,000 to be evacuated.

The county education authorities have postponed the new school term scheduled to open on Sunday to Sept. 1 as hundreds of school buildings were damaged in the quake.
