Six policemen allegedly participated in a street brawl that led to one man's death in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province.
The incident happened about 10 pm on Saturday night when a police station received a report from a 110 emergency call center that people were fighting in front of a night club near Railway Cultural Palace, Northeast.cn reported today.
Police arrived at the scene and found two groups of young men fighting and one man lying on the ground. Police immediately took control of the situation and the man lying on the ground surnamed Lin was confirmed dead by paramedics, the report said.
“My kid is 1.92-meters tall and can play basketball very well,” Lin's mother Lu Qinghong was quoted as saying after she saw her son's body. “I can not imagine he died this fast.”
The man's friends said Lin and they were playing billiards in the club after attending a birthday party. A quarrel started with six other people over a parking space and they fought in the club. Lin was pulled outside and beaten, the report added.
All those involved in the fight including the six alleged policemen were in custody and an investigation was ongoing, according to the Website.
