Police in Shanxi Province are still investigating a case in which a male student stabbed a teacher to death in the classroom, according to a website.
The unidentified suspect, 16, allegedly wrote in his diary that he was an extremely bad student and had decided to kill his teacher to vent his anger towards society and the education system, Daynews.com reported.
The violence occurred when senior-one students were studying at a Shuozhou No. 2 Middle School classroom on the night of October 4 in Shuozhou City. Teacher Hao Xudong, 23, reportedly spoke to the boy about 7:30 pm because he had not handed in the class fees.
The boy was smoking at the time and Hao took away the lit cigarette and continued to supervise the class, the report said.
At 7:44 pm, when the teacher passed the boy’s desk, the suspect stood up and stabbed Hao in the stomach with a flick knife. The teacher retreated, but the boy stabbed the teacher repeatedly until he collapsed, the report said.
The other students panicked, but the suspect went over to the teacher’s desk and spoke incoherently about how rich his family was and how much he hated teachers, the report said.
Hao died from excessive blood loss en route to hospital in an ambulance.
Police detained the boy and found two flick knives and a chopping knife in his school bag. They also found his diary in his dorm, the report said.
"I have lost confidence in life. I live like a dead person. The world is dark and I am only a tiny cell," he wrote. "Teachers, parents and friends, none of them respected me. They only looked down upon me."
"I adopted extreme measures that I will not regret. I hope what I did can change the education industry," the boy wrote.
According to the website, the boy was a native of Inner Mongolia and his parents are dealing with divorce issues.
Hao had worked at Shuozhou No. 2 Middle School for only one month before he was killed. The man was from a poor family and was studying for two Master’s Degrees – one at Southwest University and the other at the Beijing Film Academy. He had also written more than 20 novels and scripts, the report said.
Hao left behind a sick father and a weak mother who made ends meet by collecting stuff off streets. His younger brother and sister were still in school.
The school, education authorities and police in Shuozhou all refused to comment, according to the report.
