A woman was rescued when a fire broke out on the 30th floor of a residential building in Shanghai around 1 am last Wednesday.
Wearing just a bed gown, the woman climbed out of her window and waited on a narrow windowsill clinging to a scorching window frame to prevent herself from plunging 80 m to her death.
Firefighters formed a human ladder by stepping on each other's shoulders from a windowsill on the 29th floor to rescue her.
About a minute later, the fire engulfed the window frame she had clung to for some 20 minutes.
Fortunately, she was uninjured.
