In the dead of night in September, a combined combat group
detachment of a regiment of the Xinjiang Military Area Command set
off stealthily from an area in the heart of the Tianshan Mountain.
Clad in anti-infrared camouflage smock and equipped with dim-light
and infrared night vision equipment, the officers and men conducted
a night combat exercise under informationization conditions. In
light of the characteristics of modern warfare, the regiment has,
through exercises in actual combat environment, successfully worked
out 13 night fighting tactics including camouflage personnel and
equipment to guard against exposure, etc. and greatly boosted the
night fighting capability of its troops.
