Quality control personnel collecting first hand equipment data
Quality control personnel monitoring possible "fighting eagle
diseases" on the quality control network platform.
The reporters stepped into the Aviation Equipment Quality
Control Center of the Army Aviation in early September to learn
about the well reputed "fighting eagle disease prevention and
control center" on site, which was really an eye-opening visit.
Establishing "health files" for fighting eagles
In the "data archive room" in a six-storeyed office building in
the Army Aviation Department of the Headquarters of General Staff
of the PLA, each full and accurate archive on the health of every
fighting eagle, such as the Statistics of the Malfunction
Information of Helicopters of a Certain Type and the Forecast of
the Guaranteed Annual Flight Time of Helicopters of a Certain Type,
keeps an accurate record on the "health" state of each helicopter
equipment of the Army Aviation of the PLA since it was established.
The statistics includes scores of data and information, such as
malfunction information, mis-flight and serviceable rate of various
helicopters.
Digital technology performs remote diagnosis and treatment for
fighting eagles
By making use of the technologies of digital image, satellite
communication and intelligent checkup and diagnosis, the highly
professional "doctors", so to speak, in the "fighting eagle remote
clinic" can check up and diagnose the malfunctions for faraway
helicopter equipment and carried out beyond-visual-range video
technological support, without going personally to the scene
personally.
Enabling fighting eagles to be in powerful and perfect fighting
shape all the time
Bearing in mind the new requirements of the battlefield for
equipment support under information conditions, the center has
developed 10-odd application software, such as equipment
maintenance information management system, network timely
supervision system and multi-media information management module in
succession, and established an equipment support information
network linking the PLA general headquarters/departments, military
area commands, group armies and army aviation regiments. As a
result, each helicopter of the army aviation troops has realized
timely transmission and effective control of the quality
information on the performance of thousands of life-limited
component parts and the overhaul and routine checkup of the
helicopters.
