In late December 2007, the General Armaments Department (GAD) of
the PLA sent 30-odd outstanding young and middle-aged experts to
the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for academic
investigation.
Among the experts participating in this academic investigation
from over 20 units of the PLA General Armaments Department, some
are hi-tech personnel engaged themselves in the long-term
aerodynamic technological researches and equipment experimentation,
others are experts directly participating in the argumentation and
development of weaponry and equipment. They paid homage to the
Monument of the Baise Uprising and inspected the new countryside
development in Lingyun County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and
some 10 thousand mu of tea farms in a pyramidal mountainous areas,
etc., through which the experts have not only learned about the
revolutionary predecessors' heroic deeds in their struggle for the
birth of New China during the revolutionary war years, but also
experienced the tremendous changes having taken place in China
since the reform and opening-up policy was initiated in late
1970s.
