A group of 50 foreign army attaches from 46 foreign embassies in Beijing arrived in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, Tuesday, to visit barracks and military academies of the People's Liberation Army.

The diplomats watched military drills and psychological training of the No.179 Brigade of the PLA's Nanjing Military Area Command, and had dinner with Chinese officers and soldiers.

Since 1971, the brigade has received over 9,900 foreign visitors including heads of states and governments from over 120 foreign countries and regions, according to military sources.

During their stay in Nanjing, the foreign military attaches also visited the Nanjing Land Army Command Academy and the PLA University of Science and Technology.

Some of the foreign military attaches said the trip helped them better understand the Chinese Army and military academies, and promoted exchange and friendship between Chinese and foreign service people.
