An official of state property management in Shanghai fell from the 20th floor of a building and died Wednesday morning, police said.

Shanghai police are investigating the death of Shen Zhengjuan, director of the State Property Management Commission of Huangpu District.

An acquaintance of the deceased, who declined to be identified, told a Xinhua reporter that the official had killed herself. The person said Shen had left a suicide note for her family in which she said she faced great pressure from work.
