A family of three Chinese tourists who were injured in the fatal bus crash in the U.S. State of Arizona returned to Shanghai Thursday, while the other six were being treated in US hospitals.
Wu Shougui, his wife Bao Ruihua and his 8-year-old son were received by their family members at Shanghai Pudong International Aiport at about 7 p.m. Some burst into tears when they were reunited.
"I am so excited to come back home," Wu said, "I hope the other injured friends will get well and come back to Shanghai as soon as possible."
Four tourists who did not participate in the one-day optional trip also returned to Shanghai.
The other six who were injured were still being treated in two Las Vegas hospitals.
A bus carrying 15 Chinese tourists, a driver and a tour guide, crashed last Friday on a road near the Hoover Dam. Six Chinese tourists and a local tour guide died. Nine Chinese tourists and the local driver were injured.
The bus was on its way to the Grand Canyon, an optional trip not included in the package price, when the accident happened.
