Three people were killed and two others were seriously injured after a car fell off from a bridge in east China's Zhejiang Province Friday night, local authorities said Saturday.

The accident happened at about 11:45 p.m. in Wenzhou City when a car dashed out of the isolation belt and plunged into a ditch, a municipal firefighting department official said.

Three people died on the scene and another two were receiving treatment in Longwan Central Hospital, he said.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
